Landforms are the different shape that land can take here on earth. Isthmus, desert, and plains are three different examples of these landforms. An isthmus is a narrow piece of land that is connected to a larger piece of land. A famous example of this is the Isthmus of Panama which there is a picture of it here. A desert is a very hot and dry piece of land, and sometimes they have dunes which are hills or kind of mounds of sand on them. A famous example of this is the Sahara Desert in Africa. Plains are a large area of very flat land that has no trees or very few trees on it.
