Learning time

Kids learn by watching short, engaging video lessons.

Some of the trickiest multiplication equations to solve can be when you're multiplying by 7 or 8. A strategy you can use to help you solve these equations is by flipping the equation. So, for example, if you have 5 x 7, it can be kind of tricky to find a strategy to help you multiply it by 7. So, if we flip it, so now you have 7 x 5, we know that we can skip count by 5’s to help us solve the equation. So, we're gonna skip count by 5 seven times to get our answer. So we're going to have 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 so we have seven groups of five giving us our answer of 35. So, by flipping the equation, you can use the strategy to help you solve when you're multiplying by the other number in the equation to help you solve some of these trickier equations.
