Learning time
Kids learn by watching short, engaging video lessons.
Our skeletal system is such an important part of our body, but how do we protect it? There are lots of things that we can do to keep our bones healthy and safe. First, wear a helmet. If you're biking or doing a sport that requires a helmet, always wear helmet to protect your skull. Second, stay active. Being on our feet and doing weight bearing exercises like walking, running, or hiking helps our bones to stay strong. Third, make sure you're eating enough dairy products. Dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt contain calcium. Calcium is essential for our bones to stay strong. And finally, don't forget to get out in the sun. The sun provides our bodies with vitamin D. Vitamin D helps our bodies to absorb calcium making sure that our bones get enough calcium to stay strong and grow.
